SHALEEN HUDDA

ACTOR

About

about

Though she began her life growing up in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, Shaleen Hudda has lived and worked in three different countries (so far!). Upon receiving an Honours B.F.A in Acting from the University of Windsor, Shaleen was accepted into a post-graduate program in England at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA), prompting her to cross the Atlantic to live and study abroad. During her time at LAMDA, Shaleen fell in love with the city of London and ended up living there for eight years. The London theatre world allowed her to delve into a wide array of opportunities, including great new written works and her much-loved Shakespeare. Highlights of her range of work in London include being fortunate enough to play Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Shakespeare's Rose Theatre, as well as participate in a much loved new piece of writing called Behna, with Kali Theatre, which toured around the United Kingdom.

In 2012, Shaleen moved back to Canada to explore the growing television industry in Toronto, Ontario. Her favourite set -- one she had the pleasure of working on four times -- was that of Kim's Convenience, in which you can catch her on Netflix and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

After a stroke of Green Card lottery luck, Shaleen packed her family's bags and headed to New York City, grabbing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live a long sought-after dream. Since arriving in New York, Shaleen has played the recurring role of Dr. Kapoor's wife, Ansuya, on New Amsterdam, as well as having Guest Starred on Blue Bloods as Officer Issraa Hasan and on CBS's hit comedy Ghosts as Olivia.

Shaleen is currently signed with the talent agencies Boals, Winnett & Associates, and The Characters Talent Agency, as well as with manager Matilda Comers of FICTIOUS. Shaleen is thrilled to be working with such a great group of industry leaders and is very excited to finally make her mark in New York!
